Generally untrusting and volatile to anyone but themselves, the Akessan Collective believe that destruction of the unpure must come before rebuilding. Like the Zaoran, their physical form has decayed, but they have found a way to transcend, and use it to their advantage. Their steath has allowed them to stay a strong and formidable opponent of the other factions, as to fight an Akessan, one must first defeat the pure energy being to draw out it's other, more tangible form.
The Akessan
Collective is at war with:
Warlords of Zek, Marr's Chosen, Mithaniel Marr, Erollisi Marr, Ralthazor,
Rallos Zek, Tallor Zek, Vallon Zek.
Head to the
northern side of the island coast where you will find An Akesson Liason
near a tree. It will be red to a 60 and will be KOS but will not harm
you. Speak to the Liason and tell him yes you wish you align with the
Akessons. He will ask you if you're sure twice, after which time you will
see your faction points given to you:
-2000 Honor guards
-2000 Zaoran
-Akessan faction will be set to -350 (with 0 faction for Akesson ambassadors)
The liason will give you the first faction quest, which is for 'Akessan collective'. Also to log any more quests with the Akessons you must first raise your "collective" faction to at least -320.
INCREASING
FACTION
To raise your faction, farm opposing factions. ie. honor guard veterans
(debuff ac by 1700, can one group, aggro like banidts). Loot weapons,
turn stacks of 4 weapons into Liason, who will give you 4 faction per
stack (ie. 1 fac/weap). Just sell no trade stack ITEMS to merchant.
You can also complete the "Portal Quests" now located up in ZP. You'll want to complete the Fiery and/or Divine Portal quests. Also, keep you eyes out for NPCs you can help with recon work, setting traps, finding traps enemies have set, or taking down traitorous spies. All these quests help improve your faction.
Once you
have -320 faction then you are ready to log quests for the new quests
and ambassador faction.
1. Head to the bridge that heads north over lava towards the Akessan camps.
Speak
to "an Akessan" on the right side of the bridge (facing north).
He speaks to you and then he death touches you (for 20k damage). Rez back,
wait for rez effects to wear off, speak with him again, wash, rinse, and
repeat about 10 times or so. You do this to "prove" you know
about death. If he asks if you are tired yet, say "no, you are determined!".
2. Now look across the bridge directly from where you are (on the left side of the bridge facing north), to speak to another "an Akessan". He will tell you to collect 4 mystical parchments from the Zaoran and Honor Guard Spellsmiths. Go to the big Honor Guard camp, pull and kill Honor Guards until the Spellsmith spawns. Kill him and repeat untill you have 4 Disenchanted Parchments.
Return them to "an Akessan" (left npc). (xp!)
3. "an
Akessan" now requires that you return the devices held by 2 Rallosian
Arcanists. Infiltrate Rallosian territory and slay Rallosian Arcanists
until you’ve got the two devices. The Rallosian Arcanist is located in
the southeast corner of the Zek building. There is one on the first floor
of the Zaoran tower, and one on the second floor of the same tower (to
the right as you port into ZP).
Pull Zaoran Guards, keep them fresh until you can pull Arcanist. Kill
and loot Revealing Lenses – repeat until you have 2 Lens (the respawn
for the Arcanist is approx 2 min so keep boxes fresh still). Return
to "an Akessan" (left).
4. Next,
you will be asked to Protect an Akessan travelling into the "heart
of the Zaorans". Head to the Akessan just across the bridge (s/w
side); he won't start "travelling" until the questor talks to
him. You must protect him as he
proceeds to travel SW/S toward the base of the Zaoran Tower.
Not only must you kill wandering honor/zaoran mobs are killed, you will
also meet up with 3 different timed mobs that will try and kill your charge:
* the first set is 2 Honor guards,
* the second set is 1 Honor Guard Crusader,
* the third set is 1 Honor Guard and 2-3 big Crusaders.
The Akessan will fight as well, but he will die fast if one or two of
the other mobs are on him for too long. So, kill
and protect the Akessan – repeat until the Akessan reaches his destination
safely at the base of the tower (before getting in range of all the Zaoran's!),
speak to him and will disappear and reappear and will give you an Akessan
Lucky Charge
Note: Travelling with the Akessan is tricky.
* Don't use AoE's. If you use AoE's, your Akessan will turn on you.
If this happens let yourself die and rez back or log out quickly.
* Make
sure that pets are attacking mobs that spawn because the pets may aggro
the Akessan.
* Furthermore, healing a pet or someone that the Akessan is aggro’d on
may aggro the Akessan back on you.
Return to an Akessan (left) and receive xp (21 million).
5. "an Akessan" now asks you to find and kill Guard Jubrak when he is alone. Slay him and take his shield. Guard Jubrak roams near the big Honor Guard camp, on the easternmost edge of the most north/eastern tent. He has a LOT of hps.
6. Upon turning
in the shield, you must find the Operative of Marr located on the West
side of the big Honor Guard camp and make sure to answer his question
correctly. He asks you a riddle:
"If the tree decays, what will you do?"
Reply:“Burn it to the ground, and plant another”.
He
will then ask you to kill a "messenger" before it gets to Rallosian territory.
The Messanger spawns along the same pathway travelled by the Akessan you
protected, near the Zek building. Kill
her and loot "the Message from Jubrak" (drops 4).
Return to an Akessan (left) and receive xp (20 million).
7. "an
Akessan" (left) now asks you to slay the Honor Guard Captain
and the Rallosian Captain and to bring back their weapons to an
Akessan:
* The
Honor Guard Captain spawns in the Honor Guard building (Honor Guards
are posted at the bottom of the ramp), his placeholder is the npc that
stands in the middle against the back wall behind the barrels. Took 3
hours of farming the placeholder to get the captain to finally spawn -
CS took him down with 2 groups. He drops 5 x Honor Guard Lance.
*
The Rallosian Captain is located in the Zek building on the first
floor along the back wall. Pull Zaorans out, kill keep fresh until you’re
able to pull Captain. Kill and loot Captain’s Axe (4 drops).
8. Return to "an Akessan" (left) with the Captain's Axe and the Honor Guard Lance. Doing so will officially align you with the Akessans.
You receive
xp and factions with:
* Akessan Collective (500),
* Rallos Zek (-2k), and
* Mithaniel Marr Crusades (-2k)
Speak to
an Akessan Collector who gives the armor
quest. The following gems
are needed for it to craft armor:
* Boots: Topaz gem and jandice gem
* Bracelet: Flame opal and flawed emerald
* Gloves: Onyx sapphire and peridot
* Helm: Lava ruby and black marble
* Leggings: Nephrite and flawless aquamarine
* Tunic: Pristine emerald and black diamond
Once you've completed your gem farming, and had your armour made, talk to "an Akessan" (on the right of the bridge facing north) who will give you an Akessan Insignia. The insignia allows you to destroy your armour (which takes up six inventory spaces) but still have proof that you completed the Marr armour quest.
Ensure your faction with the Akessans is 2k and you will be able to log the ability quest with the Master Spellsmith. He simply requires that you turn over a Mystical Parchment and will exchange it with your ability. This is a fairly common drop. Abilities by archetype.
You may now access different Tier mobs without being ported off the island.
Completing the Armour set and ability quest will give you access to a blacksmith, banker and a grocer.
