Invasion of the Plane of Earth: First War of the Gods (From Singz)

And so with the pact erected by Brell, Prexus, and Tunare that erected The Veil to keep the Wurmqueen in check; the inevitable took place. The Warlord, Rallos Zek who had been invited in part of the pact but did not trust the three, responded in such a way that would never be forgotten. For soon enough he would make his own pact. One that would bring about doom of all, and seal the box that would hold the keys of Armageddon.

The empire of the Ogre's was the first. From their home in the mountain passes of Faydwer in Ranthok's Ridge off of the Lesser Faydarks (see Map of Norrath) did their empire grow, and expand upon Tunaria as well.

Wherever the Ogre Empire resided there were markers-poles which depicted Trakanon, and what looked to be the eclipse of Luclin to where the Combine sit, flanked by the two scarabs symbolizing the champions of light and dark that will bring either the end or salvation of Norrath.

The Ogres learned the magics of other planes (perhaps from the hand of the Ankexfen) and growing weary of only Norrath, invaded the Plane of Earth ruled by the Rathe Council. Rallos Zek watched with pride as his creations challenged the rulers of the outworld. When they eventually knew defeat, and their pride was struck...the Warlords thirst for vengeance demanded to be quelled.

The plot of Rallos Zek began to unfold. He had made a pact with the Shissar, who in turn built for him the spires and the great pyramids that would carry his armies, in what would become the invasion of the Plane of Earth.

Their hieroglyphics were often used throughout the shissar culture (their culture being very reflective of ancient Egypt), in various buildings and structures, particularly the hieroglyphic of a snake with its maw open the line over its head representing the hood of the cobra like people Wherever can be found the spires, can be found the children of Rallos Zek. On Odus were the Kobolds, upon Tunaria are the Giants, Gnolls, and occasional Cylcops's in the Rathe Mountains, the Karana Plains and the Commonlands, Upon Vellious sit the Giants of Kael Drakkal, and the Ankexfen which are now split to four tribes of goblins, and Upon Faydwer rest the Ogres and their orcish slaves who had spread their empire across the face of Norrath and to Tunaria as well.

It was then that the combined armies of the Warlord had gathered, and this time he would lead them to battle personally. Using the spires made by the Shissar, his armies amassed and began their movement to the south. Within what became known as the Rathe Mountains a portal or gateway was torn asunder to the Plane of Earth once more. The war that ensued shook the heavens, angering the greater gods. The first war was finally at hand.

With their combined might, the gods thwarted the Warlord and his minions. It was then a great barrier was erected, entombing the God of War within his Plane of Power, a prisoner within. The gods then turned to the armies of Rallos Zek and smote them all with terrible hexes. Thousands of ogres were slain instantly and their empire fell to ruin about them. Rallos Zek, the Warlord and his armies...were no more.

The Rathe Council cursed many of the creatures of Zek. All those that were cursed and those that would be born of their kin would inherit the curse. The ogres, the kobolds, and the gnolls. All those were taken of their great intellect. Only the Giants of Kael Drakkal survived the curse having never taken part in the great conflict within those mountain passes upon that day of legend. It is however never spoken of as to why the denizens of Kael Drakkal never marched upon that day and were spared a terrible fate. The spires that reside within the Great Divide of Vellious have no known way to be accessed by the wielders of the arts of wizardry.

The Shissar had been the creations and followers of Cazic Thule. The Shissar's power and empire had become great, spreading from Kunark to across Tunaria and into the Feeroot where they erected a temple devoted to their god, the Lost Temple of Cazic Thule (a shissar pyramid is located within the temple).

After the shissar made their pact, two of their brood were raised up and became greatly powerful. Allize Taeew the herald of fear, and Allize Volew the herald of war (note the faction hits inside The Lost Temple of Cazic Thule zone).

At the end of the war the Shissar befell a great and powerful curse. It is unknown if this was due in part from the Rathe Council or from the influence of some other god. The shissar were struck and robbed of their great intellect and digressed into mere shadows of their former selves, the lizard men. It is the Iksar who speak the tongue of Lizard Men to this day, having inherited it from their masters the shissar with no racial language of their own.

Those that followed the herald of fear, Allize Tae ew remained within their temple in the jungle and suffered the same curse and disfigurations as their cousins that they now blamed for their embittered fate (Killing in the Lost Temple of Cazic Thule raises faction with Allize Vol ew who are on Rallos Zek faction, in turn raising faction with the guards of Oggok). Their herald who survived the great conflict was cursed equally and banished. To this day he walks upon his prison within the Ocean of Tears, the dreaded Alliz ewsaur.

After all other cities of the Shissar had been destroyed at the hands of Tunare, Brell, and Karana, Bertoxxulous rose up in a green cloud that formed over the capital city of the Shissar that resides in what the Iksar call Overthere; the city of Chelsith. The hideous visage of the Plaguebringer opened his grisly visage and his maw poured a green mist from which flowed death itself. The streets of Chelsith were turned to ashe and decay, and the rivers ran freely like wine from the blood of the fallen.

In the midst of their destruction the Maiden of Shadows appeared to them and made with them their second pact. What remained of the uncursed of the Shissar departed to the ringed moon of Luclin. Salvation was theirs, but at the cost of their imprisonment upon the ringed moon. They built a new temple within what became known as "The Grey", and became the unheard
