Note on defensive procs:
Bordeal has stated: Defensive procs are more commonly referred to as Damage Shields. Damage shields are pretty straight forward and generally go off with each hit and are not affected by the statistics of the character.
The thing to keep in mind with items that have a Defensive Proc or Damage shield is that only ONE such item will be functional at any given time. So, wearing 2 or more such items may not be the best choice.When items x'd out, proc will still happen.
As we outlined in a post back in August there is a certain search order that happens to find a defensive proc item:
Shield
Torso
Legs
Forearm
Gloves
Feet
Head
Waist
Once any one item is found, it will go off and no further items will. So, for instance, if you have a Shield and a Breastplate with a defensive proc effect only the shield will ever go off. If the Breastplate isn't giving you some other benefits, you might consider replacing it (or switch out the shield so that the Breastplate effect comes into play).
Confirmed: A racial or targetable Damage Shield WILL stack with procing armour. BTW item will still proc, even if x'd out.

Bone Wing Sentinel (Rune of Bonewing Charges:100, not rechargeable, Lvl 55+, All/All). Especially desired by Tanks. This Rune, when invoked summons a thexian bonewing familiar to aid you. Effects: Familiar will cast a lifetap damage shield doing 40 damage, 20 heal. Also +40 PR/DR. Drops off Lord Valkanith

BP of the Annointed: Equip: torso HP: 13400 DUR: 70 Race: HUM ELF DELF GNO DWF HLF ERU Class: PAL CL Level: 60 LORE STA: 30 HPMax: 75 AC: 414 AR: 10 Description: This breastplate was made by the god Mithaniel Marr for his brave followers. Effect: heal proc: heals for 15+10%Cha on each melee hit Appearance: blue.

RigorMortis: I got one off of a drake on Aey isle before. Only problem with farming the drakes, is that they respawn slower than dirt. After you clear all the drakes on the isle, you are stuck waiting for up to 10 minutes for a spawn at times. I've gotten 2 bpoa's off of the apes already. Haven't gotten a bpoa or a rod off of the snow1 mobs. I've heard that they drop there too, but I have had no luck there, maybe you could try those as well with GN.

Effect: has a built in healing proc for 15 every time your hit (damage proc too?). Drops from creatures such as phants, hexes, werelions/greater werelions in zones: Fort Alliance, Zentar's Keep, East Plateau. Note: Toss states that is a dr based item, so for example, it's completely resisted in PoD.

Oppressive Boots: drops from Deathfist Myrmidon in Munial's Tea Garden. AC: 58 STA: 5 AGI: 10 Classes: Cleric, Paladin, Shadowknight, Warrior Races: All Races Slot: Feet Item Level: 29 Max Item HP: 5800 Durability: 50 Description: The Tyrants of the Deathfist Horde wear armor like this when raiding and pillaging. Effect: Boots proc damage

Effect: Fairy Illusion: Agi/Dex + 15, Gives a proc of around 600+, modified by dexterity. (Fairy Illusion still procs even if staff is broken. Once you change to fairy form, you can load other weapons and the spell damage proc on faykind will still work) Appearance: Curly head staff with white diamond at head, common appearence.
